In Santeria,Dirt of different types are used in amulets and charms consecrated in the name of certain corresponding Orishas as well.
Below are some as shared by C. Montengro in his wonderful book "Santeria: Candles, Herbs, Incense, Oils"

DIRT FROM 4 CORNERS -To open up the roads of success. (Correlates with Ellegua,keeper of the crossroads.)
DIRT FROM THE MOUNTAINS -Used in cleansing spells as well as in communicating with the spirits that reside specifically in a mountain region.
DIRT FROM THE FOREST -Used in spells of protection.
DIRT FROM 4 JAILS -Used in spells to either release or keep an individual incarcerated.
DIRT FROM 4 POLICE STATIONS -To bring the police to a persons home or business.
DIRT FROM 4 BANKS -For prosperty spells.
DIRT FROM AN INDIAN CEMETERY -For spells of protection. (Can also be used to help summon your indian guide.)

TO RELEASE SOMEONE FROM JAIL
Place a picture of the incarcerated person on a white plate. Sprinkle over it Deerhorn powder & powdered Palo Abre Camino.Place a small crossbow over the photo and powders to represent the Orisha Ochosi. Sprinkle dirt from the forest and then dirt from four jails over the photo. Burn a red 7 day candle that has been fixed with "Get out of Jail" oil by the plate. Instill a bit of this oil in candle daily. On the 8th day ,wrap all the items in a white cloth and dispose of near the jailed individual.
Get out of Jail Oil
To 2 oz. base oil, add contents of one Vit.E capsule and:
7 drops Dragons Blood
21 drops Coconut
7 drops Nutmeg

TO KEEP SOMEONE IN JAIL
Place photo of individual on a white plate an sprinkle with Palo Cambia Rumba, Palo Justica and Palo Muerto. Sprinkle dirt from 4 cemeteries then the dirt from 4 police stations over the photo.
Burn a black 7 day candle that has been fixed with "Domination" oil by the plate. Instill a bit of this oil in candle daily. On the 8th day,wrap the items in a black cloth and bury over a grave.

TO DOMINATE AN INDIVIDUAL
Place photo of individual on a white plate an sprinkle with dirt form the bottom of your shoe. Sprinkle dirt from 4 cemeteries over the photo.Burn a black 7 day candle that has been fixed with "Domination" oil by the plate. Instill a bit of this oil in candle daily. On the 8th day,wrap the items in a red cloth and bury in a wooded area.
DOMINATION OIL
To 2 oz. base oil, add contents of one Vit.E capsule and:
7 drops Snake
3 drops Patchouly
3 drops Apple

TO CAUSE CONFLICTS
Write the individuals name six times on a piece of brown paper bag and insert nine needles into the paper and then place on a white plate. Sprinkle a mixture of black cat & black dog fur over the paper. Next, sprinke powdered Palo Cambia Rumba and Palo Muerto (or "Separation" or "Confusion" powder) and then dirt from where two dogs have fought over the paper.
Burn a black 7 day candle that has been fixed with "Separation" or "Confusion" oil by the plate. Instill a bit of this oil in candle daily. On the 8th day,wrap the items and dispose of in a cemetery.
SEPARATION OIL & POWDER
To 2 oz. base oil add contents of one Vit. E capsule and:
3 drops vetivert
3 drops Sandalwood
1 drop Clove
4 drops Black Pepper
For powder ,add ground herbs to a rice flour/corn starch base
CONFUSION OIL & POWDER
To 2 oz. base oil, add contents of one Vit.E capsule and:
5 drops Coconut
3 drops Lavender
2 drops Violet
3 drops Black Pepper
2 drops Ginseng
For powder,add ground herbs to a rice flour/corn starch base
Note: Hemlock,if attainable, is a good addition to both these recipes as well.

TO WIN A HORSE RACE
Write the name of the horse on a piece of brown paper bag, place on a plate and sprinkle it with Deerhorn powder and dirt from four banks. Next,sprinkle the paper with dirt from a horse racetrack.
Light a 7 African Powers (Rainbow colored) 7 day candle that has been fixed with "Jockey Club" Oil by the plate. Instill a bit of this oil in candle daily at least 3 days prior to the race . On the day of the race,dispose of the items at a crossroads near the racetrack.
JOCKEY CLUB OIL
To 2 oz. base oil add contents of one Vit.E capsule and:
, Bergamot
Coconut
Clover
Ylang Ylang
Heather

TO ESCAPE THE LAW
Write your name 7 times on a piece of brown paper bag, place on a plate and sprinkle it with cascarilla(powdered egg shell) and Deerhorn powder. Next , sprinkle the paper with dirt from 4 churches & dirt from an Indian cemetery.
Light a "Law Stay Away" 7 day candle that has been fixed with "Law Stay Away" Oil by the plate. Instill a bit of this oil in candle daily. On the 8th day,bury the contents in your yard.
LAW STAY AWAY OIL
To 2 oz. base oil add contents of one Vit. E capsule and the following herbs:
Espanta Policia
Anise
Dragon blood chunks
Licorice Sticks
Deerhorn powder
Let sit for several weeks & shake daily. Strain through cheesecloth and bottle.

TO BRING THE POLICE
Place dirt from 4 police stations ,dirt from four street corners, dirt from a courthouse and dirt from 4 cemeteries in a mixing bowl and mix together.
Light a black 7 day candle that has been fixed with a jinx or crossing-type oil by the bowl. Instill a bit of this oil in candle daily. On the eighth day, sprinkle all of the dirtfrom the bowl at the individuals home or business.

TO PROTECT YOUR HOME FROM ENEMIES
Mix dirt from the forest, dirt from 4 churches, dirt from an Indian cemetery,dirt from a soldiers grave,dirt from a Santero’s home and one tablespoon Deerhorn powder together in a large mixing bowl.
Light a 7 African Powers (rainbow) 7 day candle instilled with protection-type oil by the mixing bowl. Instill a bit of the oil in the candle daily. On the 8th day,sprinkle the contents of the bowl around your home and property.Follow up with a complete cleaning and mopping of the house with a Protection-type floorwash and carpet sweep.
PROTECTION FLOORWASH
1 cup Hyssop
1 cup Basil
1 cup Peppermint
1 cup Lemongrass
1 cup Sage
Boil all the ingredients in one quart of water for 20 minutes.After liquid has cooled strain and then add to it, 1 cup of ammonia, 1/2 cup Florida water & 1/2 cup salt. Place in a plastic bottle and leave for 7 days before using.
For the carpet sweep,simply powder all the herbs and mix with the salt & some baking soda. Mixture is sprinkled over carpet and can then be either swept across rug and out the door or vacumed up while concentrating on your desire.
The above ingredents in oil-form also make a great protection oil when added to a base oil.

TO MAKE AN INDIVIDUAL MOVE
Mix dirt from four cemeteries and dirt where two dogs have fought together in a mixing bowl. Add some "Hot Foot" or "Get Away" powder to the mixture.
Light a black 7 day candle instilled with "Hot Foot" or "Get Away" oil by the mixing bowl & recite the Prayer of the Intranquil Spirit. Instill a bit of the oil in the candle daily and recite the prayer. On the 8th day,sprinkle the contents of the bowl on the persons property or where they are sure to walk over it.
HOT FOOT POWDER OR OIL
Red Chili Pepper
Black Pepper
Precipitado Rojo
Sulpher

That he should run until he humbly falls at my feet because nobody would help him. Neither a divorcee or a married woman or a widow should love him.
(insert name), I conjure you before this cross and God, that you are to run after me as the living after the cross and the dead after the light. Amen."
